Travel & Logistics

Overview

The University of Manchester is located on the southern edge of Manchester city centre. Most conference sessions will take place at the National Graphene Institute on the main university campus, which is well-served by national and international transport links.

By Train

Manchester Piccadilly is the main railway station, providing direct links to London (approx. 2 hours), Birmingham, and Edinburgh. Manchester Oxford Road station is the closest to the university campus (approx. 10-15 minute walk).

By Air

Manchester Airport (MAN) is a major international hub. Frequent trains run from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly station (approx. 20 minutes). Taxis are also available from the airport to the university campus (approx. 30 minutes).

By Car

The university is accessible via the M60 orbital motorway and the A57(M) Mancunian Way. Please note that parking on campus is extremely limited; visitors are advised to use 'Park and Ride' facilities or public transport.

Local Transport

Manchester has an extensive bus network. Services 41, 42, 43, 85, 86, 111, 142, 143, and 147 frequently travel from the city centre along Oxford Road to the heart of the university campus.

National Graphene Institute, Booth Street East, Manchester. It is around a 20–25 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station to the National Graphene Institute.
